For more than two decades, our educational work has used nonviolence, responsible decision-making, peaceful conflict resolution, and positive leadership to help prevent violence and crime while strengthening the capacity for personal and social transformation.

A Pedagogical Model Born from Real-Life Experience
What makes Crime Does Not Pay International unique is its origin. The educational model was developed through real-life experience inside Bellavista Penitentiary in Medellín, Colombia, where extreme overcrowding, violence, and conflict created one of the most challenging environments for human coexistence. Through dialogue, nonviolence, negotiation, and agreements among leaders from different sectors of the prison, conflicts increasingly began to be addressed through words rather than violence.
That experience became the foundation of an educational model that extends far beyond prison walls. Today, Crime Does Not Pay International transforms those lessons into practical tools for crime prevention, peaceful conflict resolution, responsible decision-making, positive leadership, and peacebuilding—demonstrating that even in the most challenging environments, people can choose transformation and become agents of positive change.
